Coleen Rooney is furious with baby Kai photos printed in newspaper
Coleen Rooney is furious that the Sunday Express newspaper ignored a ban they imposed on printing photographs of their baby, Kai Wayne while enjoying the races at Aintree.
Coleen and Wayne have issued legal warnings to newspaper and magazine editors stating they would take action against anyone publishing photos of their first born and until Sunday 12th April there was no record of any pictures of baby Kai being published in the UK.
However, the Sunday Express carried a photograph of Coleen, 24, holding Kai at Saturday’s Aintree Grand National meeting. The front-page feature, which clearly showed the child’s face, has sparked outrage in the Rooney family and their spokesman confirmed lawyers had been contacted.
Ian Monk, the couple’s PR agent said: “The Sunday Express publication was completely unauthorised, and the rules haven’t changed at all.
“It remains Wayne and Coleen’s wish that their child’s rights of privacy are fully protected. We are now talking to our lawyers.”
The front-page picture, along with a second which appeared on page three of the newspaper, showed Coleen and baby Kai enjoying the big race from a private box in the exclusive Amberleigh House stand at Aintree.
Similar photographs have since appeared on websites including those of other newspaper publishers.
One eye witness at Aintree said: “When Coleen and her family arrived with baby Kai they were surrounded by a huge team of security guards who shielded them from the lenses of cameramen.
“It was clear that they did not want baby Kai’s picture to be taken at all. When the picture of Coleen holding Kai was taken, they must have dropped their guard for a moment.
“It is amazing how much little Kai already looks like his dad. He has got Wayne’s distinctive features. He’s a real chip off the block.”
We’ve seen the photo of Kai and he looks adorable! We wouldn’t keep him hidden away but can understand why Coleen has decided to take this drastic step.
