Carly Cole has had a busy year, from giving birth to baby girl Ruby, being involved in a terrifying car jacking and moving to Liverpool with husband Joe Cole. Speaking with Hello magazine Carly gave us an insight into her year.

On the terrifying car jacking
“It was about 8.30 on a Sunday morning. Joe had the day off and we’d gone back to the old house to sort a few things out. Joe and Ruby were inside the house. It came out of nowhere.”

“It all happened so fast, it was very frightening and for a while, it blurred how I felt about London. For the first time ever, I didn’t feel safe. I’d actually been feeling really excited about spending the day at our old home, but afterwards, I had to get out of there immediately.”

Asked how her husband Joe, who, just weeks earlier, had transferred from Chelsea to Liverpool FC, reacted, she says: “Both Joe and I were in such shock at first, we didn’t feel angry – that maybe comes later.

“I just kept telling myself that I’d been lucky because Ruby wasn’t in the car. Her little car seat was there in the back and she could so easily have been with me. And although I’ve been back to that part of London since and I did feel safe again, it has made me more cautious all round and more aware of the fact that things like this can happen, unexpectedly, wherever you are.”

On moving to Liverpool:
“I do miss having our friends and families nearby, but I know that we have do what’s best for Joe’s football.

“When we first moved up here, there were three big social events in a row, including Jamie Carragher’s testimonial and his wife Nicola’s 30th birthday. I thought, ‘This club are a sociable lot!’

“I didn’t really need that network of wives and girlfriends when Joe was at Chelsea, because I had my own existing circle of friends around me. But because I don’t have that here, it’s nice to have that support and to know that, when the guys are away, we can meet up.”

On motherhood:

“I love it! Ruby is the focus of my world and because I brestfed her for the first five months, I feel it’s made the bond between us even stronger. I think sometimes people moan too much about how hard it is having a baby. I mean, it is knackering — because Ruby’s been waking up a lot lately. I’ve come downstairs so exhausted some mornings, my hands have been shaking as I grip the bannisters — and it would be nice sometimes to have a bit of time to myself. But if you’re ready to start a family, then that’s all part of it. Maybe that’s why I feel the way I do — because it was absolutely the right time for Joe and I.”

On Joe as a dad:
“He’s a brilliant dad and he adores Ruby. He said the other day that before Ruby was born if he’d had a picture in his head of the perfect baby, she is it. When he’s home, he’ll take her for a couple of hours, so they get time alone together, and if he’s not working, he’ll get up and get her dressed while I have a relaxing bath, instead of the two-minute shower I usually have to make do with.”

On Ruby’s personality:
“She is such a determined little thing. She gets that from Joe. You have to be really determined to get to where Joe has as a sportsman and Ruby has definately inherited that. She’s just started pulling herself  up in her cot — she did it for the first time four days ago — and it doesn’t matter how exhausted she is, she will keep trying and trying until she stands up. She actually makes this little grunting noise when she’s exerting herself. She’s so active and advanced — a friend of mine has got a baby two months older and she can’t believe some of the things Ruby’s doing. Sometimes she waves her little arm and says what sounds very much like “Hiya.”

On losing the pregnancy weight:

“I’m pretty much back to how I was before. My boobs seem smaller to me, but I think that could be because I’m comparing them to how they were when I was pregnant and then breastfeeding. I definately think breastfeeding helped  me get back in to shape. I certainly didn’t diet, I just ate sensibly, did a bit of  gentle exercise and the weight gradually came off. I’m young and Ruby is my first child, so I feel fine about my body. I think it’s maybe after the second or third pregnancy that women start to feel unhappy with how they look.”

On wanting three more children:
[Laughs] “If Ruby was sleeping better I’d say yes, but at the moment I’m not so sure! Apart from the first three months or so, when I suffered terrible nausea, I really enjoyed being pregnant and Joe and I would definately like more than one child. But it would be nice to have a bit of ‘me’ time, and a few nights out with my friends, before I do it all again.”

On looking forward to their first Christmas as a family of three:
” I love Christmas and this one will be extra special. I can’t wait to get the tree up so that Ruby can gaze at the decorations. Joe will have a game on Boxing Day, so we’ll have all the family up. I’ll be excited to see all the garden covered in snow. I’m already picturing the three of us out there building a snowman. Ruby will probably be walking by then, so it’s going to be a really special time.”

As Liverpool were set to play their first match of the season again Arsenal, it must have been an exciting day for the Cole family as Joe was there to make his debut.

Wearing his red shirt for the first time perhaps Joe got a little over excited as he was sent off just before half time after a reckless challenge on Arsenal defender Laurent Koscieln.

Joe was said to be left ‘devastated’ after the sending off and was inconsolable in the dressing room at half-time. However  Carly’s attentions soon turned to her baby daughter Ruby, who she had brought along with her on the day out at Anfield. And she had plenty of helping hands as her friends took it in turns to hold and play with the five-month-old little girl.

Carly and Joe have been settling into life in Liverpool after he joined the Merseyside club on a free transfer from Chelsea in July. They are staying in a £800-a-night suite at the Hilton Hotel while they wait to move into a £2.6m five-bedroom home in Formby which is only a few minutes away from the Gerrad‘s home- how cosy!

Poor Carly Cole! During an interview with Metro.co.uk Carly has  said that husband Joe Cole is eager to have more children- and soon! Carly said: “Joe would like two [children] close to each other so I know he wouldn’t say no to having another one soon but I’d like to enjoy Ruby. Maybe leave it a year before anything happens.”

“I’d like three to five children. I don’t know I might have one boy but Joe says he can just see himself surrounded by little girls.”

Gosh, three to five children- we are Carly will regret that when if it happens!

Carly Cole shops in Liverpool

We feel so proud! It’s only taken Carly Cole a couple of days to find the shops in Liverpool after moving to the city late last week. You’d have no idea that Carly had only given birth to her first daughter 4 months ago as she looked chic and slender in skinny leggings and tight sports vest top.

Not neglecting her new daughter, Carly spent time in Mothercare before meeting husband to find their way around Liverpool city centre.

The Cole’s looked happy and relaxed browsing the shops in Liverpool’s new Liverpool 1 shopping centre, however their house hunting hasn’t gone as well as Carly’s shopping as the family are currently living in a hotel until they find their dream home!

Carly and Joe Cole aren’t wasting any time in getting their daughter, Ruby Tatiana into the lime light as at only 4 months old she already has her own modeling campaign!

Ruby Tatiana has been signed as the new face of disposable nappies that are especially designed for swimming. Not very glam, but it’s a great first job!

Carly joins daughter Ruby in the photos for Huggies Little Swimmers, however looks slightly over airbrished compared to her natural looking daughter but atleast they didn’t airbrush the baby!

Carly is already an active swimmer and swam throughout her pregnancy, which helped her shed her baby weight in record time. Carly said: “I’ve always been a keen swimmer, since I was a baby myself, and it’s been great being able to share the experience with Ruby.

“Whilst I was pregnant I wanted to keep exercising, so I swam two or three times per week.

“And now that I’ve had Ruby, it’s still something I do….It’s helped strengthen the bond between us.”

Carly Cole moves to Liverpool

Joe Cole announced this week that he had signed a mega deal with Liverpool FC which means that the North West have just adopted a new WAG with Carly Cole- hurray!!!

Carly spent yesterday packing up her house and family ready for the move along with her family and friends. We  were actually a little surprised to see her getting so involved in the move considering her WAG status- we would have thought she would have paid someone to do it all!

It’s been a busy few months for the Cole family after bringing their first child into the world in March and the World Cup in June, we are sure Carly and Joe will be exhausted by the time they settle down in Liverpool.

Joe Cole said of the transfer to Liverpool: “I have played in London all my life. I could have stayed at Chelsea because the fans loved me and I won things, but I wanted to challenge myself and when Iknew Liverpool were interested it was a no-brainer because they are the biggest club in the country.”

Carly Cole flies to South Africa

Wooohoo! Another WAG is ignoring Fabio Capello’s no WAG rule! Carly Cole packed herself and new born baby Ruby off to South Africa to support husband Joe Cole in today’s England match against Slovenia.

Carly looked tired wearing a white vest and wedged cotton shoes as she left her west London home yesterday morning. The strain of having a new born is obviously showing, and we aren’t sure flying to South Africa with her baby is the best thing for Carly however it is great to see her supporting Joe.

England are under a lot of pressure in this game after their poor performance on Friday against Argentina. We hope Joe Cole is called up to play so that Carly’s trip isn’t a complete waste.

Carly Cole is getting used to the fact that husband and new dad, Joe Cole won’t be around so often soon as he was called to be in the World Cup squad today.

Carly  enjoyed the pleasant weather with a girl friend and her new baby girl as she ate alfresco at lunch time in West London.

Dressed down in jeans, a blue top and cardigan, Carly looked incredibly happy as she was seen laughing with her friend while enjoying a healthy salad, however Carly has recently said she loves to treat herself: “I like to have a treat every day. It might be an almond croissant, a piece of chocolate or a cappuccino.

“Having something you enjoy in moderation makes you less likely to binge on junk and you’ll feel more motivated to stick to eating healthily and exercising the rest of the time.”

Hmm, we just can’t imagine Carly Cole scoffing her face with chocolate and croissants- can you?!?

Chelsea supporter Christine Bleakley

Christine Bleakley has come out as a proud WAG after supporting boyfriend Frank Lampard on Chelsea’s double decker bus during their victory parade today after winning the FA Cup and Premier League.

Christine has previously said about her knowledge of football: “I don’t understand the offside rule but I do understand the passion for football.”

Christine was also seen celebrating with Frank and his Chelsea team mates including Joe Cole and new mum Carly last night at Frankie’s restaurant in Knightsbridge before heading to China Whites to party the night away.
